Helping Philippines Disaster Victims The Right Way

Often times you hear people asking for help to disaster victims but most of the time it leaves donors wondering if the goods actually reached the people. Many of those who are seeking for donations have several layers before it get to the people. Stop the bad experience. Send donations to those who give the goods directly to the people. See below for options.

  • To send goods directly at low risk to Volunteers, consider sending it directly to DSWD a government office who can receive goods. They will add your donated goods to those that are being distributed by them. They put items in plastic bags and then give it out to the people directly. Delivery receipt is your only receipt. For Bohol and Cebu area send to the address below. This is the closest location to the major disaster.

  • Want to distribute goods yourself?
Work with DSWD office, Barangay, or other registered Nonprofit agencies. Whatever you do, however many you are – do not go alone. Individuals who wish to distribute goods on their own must practice caution specially in areas where massive disaster has stricken. You can always stand alongside with them so you can see where the goods goes.

Community Giving Completed

The last batch of donated items received for the month of July has been completed today. Magazines showing photos of each giving will be distributed to donors by end of August. Most of the photos for this giving will not be published for privacy reason to ensure disadvantaged people remain safe from discrimination as they are all seeking for employment. Below are some of the photos we can share with you.

Community giving continues

CGF reps are going to a homeless shelter of people with illness today to give out donated goods from Regis Salons.

We believe that giving does not always have to mean exposing people who are disadvantaged just to be recognized of doing good deeds. Therefore, no photos will be posted for public viewing to protect privacy of the people but we will have something to present to donor as part of reporting.

Two more giving will take place this month to complete distribution of all goods received. Thank you for following us and for taking the time to read this post.

Message to Magazine Readers

As part of CGF’s role as a resource center, the magazine was published to allow grantors to be able to have legitimate source of data when considering funding they are passionate about. Since we still have plenty of nonprofits awaiting further assistance, we will not be publishing any new editions until most of them are funded by grantors.  Publishing these magazines do take some effort, time and money which we are currently short of so we will focus on important matters that are in need of attention now so we can begin to see some of the projects become available to the community.

Awarenesss Activity

This May, we are going to give out another set of education program and school supplies to urban poor schools who are on the waiting list.
